PATH Training Materials
The PATH training content is intended to provide an overview of strategies to support patients with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Not all content will be applicable to all settings and staff at UC Davis Health.
The PATH core training topics include 4 areas of education:
Introduction to NDD, Neurodiversity and the PATH Program
Sensory and Environmental Considerations
Preventative Support Strategies: Visual Supports & Social Narratives
Comfort Positioning
If you are interested in participating in our PATH training program, we will first develop a “Training Action Plan” together when we meet for the first time. Once we have confirmed each step of the “PATH Training Timeline” (outlined below) we will then work to elect lead unit champions who we call the “PATH Pavers.”
The Pavers will help organize all training content and an action plan with help from the PATH Training Team. Once 80% of staff has been trained, the unit will be “PATH Hub Certified.”

Becoming PATH Pavers
The role of the PATH PAVERS is to take the core PATH training content & information and apply it to the setting and needs of their staff. Examples used throughout PATH trainings are general by design.
PAVERS can provide specific examples for staff that is meaningful to the context and the patients they see.
